Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Kettering
Salary: £50,000 (Depending on experience)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering business delivering custom machinery and systems for material handling applications. This hands-on role involves managing the full design process, from concept through to commissioning.
Job Responsibilities
• Produce 2D and 3D general arrangement and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Integrate in-house and third-party equipment into optimised system layouts.
• Manage full project design cycle including design freeze, BOM creation, and release to manufacturing
• Support site-based activities such as measurement checks, installation, commissioning & test.
Skills Required
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D
• Experience in sheet metal and fabricated product design
• Background in special-purpose machinery or extensive metal fabrication experience
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and managing BOMs
