I'm currently representing my client who are searching for a mechanical engineer to work within the fluid handling/pump industry. Please see JD below:

\nMechanical Design Engineer\n

Location: Hybrid / Gloucester * Contract: Permanent * Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:00

\n

I'm looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of new and existing fluid-handling products. This role focuses on delivering innovative, compliant and manufacturable engineering solutions from concept through to production.

\n\nThe Role\n

    \n
  • \n

    Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, improving existing products and creating new concepts

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Produce 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs and documentation using SolidWorks within a PDM environment

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Apply DFM/DFA principles, safety standards and compliance requirements

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Perform FEA using SolidWorks Simulation and prepare clear technical reports

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Support prototyping, testing and validation, iterating designs based on results

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Collaborate with Product Management, Production, Quality and Supply Chain

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments and project lifecycle activities

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Create visualisations or renders for internal and external use

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Maintain accurate engineering data and version control

    \n

  • \n

\n\nAbout You\n

    \n
  • \n

    HND/Bachelor's in Mechanical or Product Design Engineering (or related discipline)

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    5+ years' experience in mechanical product design/development, ideally including fluid-handling equipment

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Skilled in SolidWorks 3D CAD and familiar with PDM systems

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Experience with FEA, DFMA, GD&T and testing processes

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Strong communication, attention to detail and problem-solving ability

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Self-motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Desirable: SolidWorks certification, exposure to electrical integration, chemical dosing experience, and stage-gate processes

    \n

  • \n
