This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in delivering sustainable and low-carbon solutions in the heat networks sector.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for detailed design engineering on a range of energy and heat network projects across London. You’ll work closely with the engineering and construction teams to ensure optimal design, procurement, and commissioning outcomes.\nMechanical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities\n * Carry out detailed mechanical design and analysis for heat network projects.\n * Engage with suppliers and contractors through all project stages — from design to commissioning.\n * Produce technical reports and review project performance.\n * Attend site in London periodically during the construction phase.\n * Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and report to the Engineering Manager.\nMechanical Design Engineer Experience and Qualifications\n * Level 8 / Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.\n * Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, ideally within the energy or building services sector.\n * Strong knowledge of LTHW systems and heat pump technology.\n * Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).\n * Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks is advantageous.\n * Flexible, motivated, and eager to work on innovative engineering solutions.\nWhat’s on Offer\nThis Mechanical Design Engineer role offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge low-carbon and renewable energy projects.
