We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well established market leading business in the Doncaster area. We are looking for forward thinking, outside the box thinking people to join a fast paced engineering team, supporting shop floor production.
Duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer;
Designs and Technical Drawings in a 3D format as a CAD designer within Solidworks
Analyse the design proposals and the technical information to identify any potential issues arising during the Design development. Defining and implementing adequate solutions to reach a feasible proposal and meet customers specification.
Transform concepts into prototypes for testing, validating and improvement, ultimately for volume production
Supervise the engineering and manufacturing processes of the design and ensure that it is as per the specifications
Maintain documentation and records of Design changes
Actively contribute to Design Reviews and Build Readiness Reviews.
Proven ability to self-manage and deliver on time
Reliable and flexible in their approach. What we need from you for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
Familiarity with CAD packages. SolidWorks experience is essential
Good understanding of mechanical systems and basic vehicle structural design.
Keen interest in practical, real-world engineering and problem-solving.
Strong attention to detail and good communication skills. Advantageous experience for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
Previous exposure to vehicle or product design
Awareness of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, fabrication, etc.).
