Every project is different, giving you the opportunity to work on genuinely interesting engineering challenges from concept through to manufacture, testing and final build.\n\nThis isn't a role where you'll spend all day producing drawings and never see the end result. You'll be heavily involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, working closely with fabrication, assembly, electrical and controls teams to ensure your designs become successful, working machines.\n\nIf you enjoy solving problems, creating practical engineering solutions and taking ownership of your work, you'll fit right in.\n\nWhy This Role Is Fully On Site\n\nThis business believes the best engineering happens when designers, machine builders and production teams work closely together.\n\nYou'll have direct access to the workshop, fabrication teams and machine builds, allowing you to:\n\nSee your designs being manufactured and assembled\n\nResolve engineering challenges quickly\n\nCollaborate closely with electrical and controls engineers\n\nImprove manufacturability and build quality\n\nBe involved in testing and machine development\n\nIf you enjoy being part of the complete machine-building process rather than working remotely behind a screen, you'll thrive in this environment.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n\nYou'll play a key role in designing and developing bespoke machinery and automation systems from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.\n\nWorking alongside project managers, workshop teams and controls engineers, you'll be responsible for delivering practical, cost-effective and manufacturable engineering solutions.\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\nDesigning bespoke machinery, conveyors and automated handling systems\n\nProducing detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor\n\nManaging BOMs, revisions and engineering documentation using Autodesk Vault\n\nCreating accurate manufacturing documentation for production and assembly\n\nDesigning fabricated machinery, sheet metal and stainless steel equipment\n\nSupporting research and development projects, prototyping and testing\n\nWorking closely with production and assembly teams throughout the build process\n\nTroubleshooting design and manufacturing challenges\n\nSupporting machine testing, installation and commissioning activities\n\nContributing ideas to improve machine performance, efficiency and reliability\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nYou'll ideally have:\n\nAt least 4 years' experience within machinery manufacturing, automation or a similar engineering environment\n\nPrevious experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer\n\nStrong Autodesk Inventor experience\n\nExperience using Autodesk Vault for document and revision control\n\nA solid understanding of fabrication, sheet metal and manufacturing processes\n\nExperience designing bespoke machinery, conveyors or automated handling systems\n\nThe ability to create detailed 3D assemblies and manufacturing drawings\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and a practical engineering mindset\n\nGood communication skills and the ability to work closely with workshop and production teams\n\nMost importantly, you'll enjoy getting involved in real engineering projects and want to see your designs progress from concept through to completion.\n\nDesirable Experience\n\nExperience within any of the following would be advantageous:\n\nFood processing machinery\n\nBeverage equipment\n\nPackaging machinery\n\nStainless steel fabrication\n\nPrototype development and testing\n\nSpecial purpose machinery\n\nWhat's In It For You?\n\n * \n\n Salary from £46,000+ depending on experience\n\n * \n\n Company pension scheme\n\n * \n\n Health and wellbeing programme\n\n * \n\n Free on-site parking\n\n * \n\n 30 days holiday including bank holidays and Christmas shutdown\n\n * \n\n Stable and growing business with low staff turnover\n\n * \n\n Genuine opportunities for progression and long-term development\n\n * \n\n The chance to work on varied and technically interesting machinery projects\n\n * \n\n A supportive and collaborative engineering team\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nThis is a great opportunity if you're looking for more than just another design role.\n\nYou'll be trusted to take ownership of projects, work closely with the people building the machines, and play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions that make a real difference.\n\nIf you enjoy hands-on engineering, solving complex challenges and seeing your work come to life, we'd love to hear from you
