Metal and sanitary piping manufacturer in Arcade, NY is looking for an experienced mechanical design engineer to join their team!!

1st shift hours, hybrid role after the first few months

Salary varies based on experience - $80-95k

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required with minimum five years’ engineering work experience .
  • Experience working with welding applications, piping, or pressure vessel design codes and calculations is .
  • Familiar with Food/Beverage/Pharmaceutical standards including 3A and ASME-BPE products is a plus.
  • Able to occasionally travel if needed.
  • Experience in designing and testing engineered industrial products is
  • Forward-thinking troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have a basic understanding of material properties.
  • Willingness to join 3A and/or ASME-BPE standards committees is a plus.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and a willingness to help others
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
  • Must be an expert in 3D modeling, knowledge of Autodesk Inventor.
  • Candidates with experience in Autodesk Inventor will be given preference.
  • Experience building design tables and component libraries is an asset.
  • A general understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, polishing, assembly, etc.).
  • Ability to learn and work within company’s Business Central ERP system is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Interpret specifications (industry, product, or customer) and convert requirements into final designs with minimal supervision.
  • Create part and/or assembly drawings to meet customer specifications. Working knowledge of GD&T is .
  • Generate BOM’s, parts lists, and routings.
  • Maintain data within Business Central ERP system.
  • Support sales and applications with quoting system components and assemblies.
  • Draw, organize, and document existing parts.
  • Build and maintain part, drawing, and assembly libraries to expedite workflow and revision control.
  • Perform engineering design calculations.
  • Work closely with other departments and customers on design for manufacturing.
  • Direct communications and support of shop floor departments (welding, machining, polishing and quality).
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects for the manufacturing facility.
  • Participate in cross functional project teams.
  • Learn and share best practices with other team members
