Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (CAD / Industrial Product Design)

Location: Irvine, California (Rancho Santa Margarita area)

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with robust CAD capabilities to design and develop high-quality mechanical products. This role blends practical engineering with creative design to drive concept-to-manufacture product development. They need to be collaborative with the CEO and product team. High commitment to excellence ie. details. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop concept models and detailed 3D CAD designs (using tools like SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Creo, etc.) of mechanical components (locks, casings, mechanisms, hinges, etc.).

• Generate engineering drawings and documentation suitable for manufacturing.

• Collaborate with prototyping and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and quality.

• Perform tolerance analysis, select appropriate materials, and design for manufacturability.

• Support test iterations, evaluate design performance, and iterate to improve form, fit, and function.

• Work closely with industrial designers (when applicable) to balance aesthetics, ergonomics, and mechanical requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design (engineering focus), or equivalent.

• Proven experience in CAD modeling, mechanical design, and documentation.

• Prior work designing locks, security hardware, furniture mechanisms, or office equipment strongly .

• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerancing.

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally.
