Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you a talented Design Engineer with a background in automation machinery design? This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project at a growing engineering hub in Newtown, Powys. You’ll be embedded within a skilled, collaborative team and play a key role in the development of bespoke automation solutions.



Responsibilities:



* Lead and support the design and development of advanced automation machinery



* Collaborate closely with our on-site engineering team to turn concepts into practical, efficient designs



* Produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks



* Ensure all designs are aligned with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements



* Help troubleshoot design challenges and propose innovative, cost-effective solutions



Experience Required:



* Proven experience designing equipment for automation or special-purpose machinery (but can be open in terms of industries)



* Proficient in CAD software (ideally SolidWorks) and experienced with SolidWorks PDM



* Strong mechanical design portfolio or examples of previous automation projects



* Able to work independently with excellent problem-solving abilities



* Valid software license (if required for remote or hybrid use)
