Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer

We are looking for a talented Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will take the lead in designing and engineering HVAC systems and related infrastructure for diverse projects, including critical process environments, commercial facilities, and industrial applications. You’ll prepare detailed drawings and specifications, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and help bring innovative, energy-efficient solutions to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design HVAC systems, including hot water and chilled water systems, air handling systems, ductwork layouts, and installation details

• Develop designs for heating and cooling systems, including steam and hot water boilers

• Produce accurate construction documents, drawings, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD

• Collaborate closely with architects, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive and efficient designs

• Participate in project meetings, providing technical input and guidance throughout design and construction phases

• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing

• Stay current on industry codes, standards, and best practices

• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers as needed

• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET), Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or a related discipline

• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing HVAC systems, including air handling systems and boilers, ideally within the architecture/engineering consulting industry

• Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for HVAC design and documentation

• Ability to independently develop complete construction documents and detailed system designs

• Solid understanding of mechanical codes, industry standards, and HVAC design principles

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Demonstrated leadership qualities, strong work ethic, and an interest in mentoring others

• Professional Engineer (PE) license not required but a plus
