About the Role:

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of industrial plastics processing equipment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is experienced with 3D modeling and design for manufacturing. You’ll be involved in projects from concept through production, working with custom machinery used in industrial manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Create and revise 3D models and detailed drawings for manufacturing
• Manage and organize design files using PDM (Product Data Management) software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, machining, and electrical engineering
• Participate in product improvement initiatives and custom machine builds
• Provide technical support during fabrication, testing, and assembly

Requirements:

Required:

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in a manufacturing or equipment-building environment
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with PDM tools
• Knowledge of machining, fabrication processes, and tolerancing
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience with design of custom machinery or plastics processing equipment
• Understanding of mechanical systems such as pneumatics, gears, bearings, etc.
