Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to award of long-term contracts with major energy clients our client is looking to hire 2 Mechanical Design Engineer to join the business.



Key Responsibilities:



The Mechanical Design Engineer will be tasked in producing new drawings based on the customers’ specifications. But also:



* Create drawings necessary for prototyping.



* Maintain and update drawing systems.



* Initiate, direct and support engineering projects.



* Conduct self-driven research and development projects and keep up to date with current and developing trends in the manufacturing industry at a and international level.



* Complete and thoroughly document new designs.



The Person:



* A bachelors’ Degree in mechanical engineering or relevant qualification in Engineering.



* A solid understanding of design.



* Advanced skills in 3D CAD modelling.



* SolidWorks with knowledge of PDM or equivalent.



* 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.



* High degree of initiative.



* Strong Project Management experience.



* Experience in concept/blank sheet design



* Experience in designing - Rotating Equipment, Machinery



* Good communication skills – be able to get on with the team internally but also be able to communicate externally to other departments



Salary & Benefits:



* 24 working days holiday + bank holidays - 1 day each complete year of service for the following 4 years until the maximum of 28 is achieved
