Mechanical Design Engineer

Benson, MN - Full Time


Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Benson, MN. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a Mechanical Design Engineer supporting product development and system integration efforts. This role is ideal for an engineer with a passion for machinery design, innovation, and hands-on problem-solving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


Duties:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for agricultural or industrial equipment.
  • Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and documentation using CAD software (such as Creo or SolidWorks).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, hydraulics, electrical, and test engineering.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis, FEA reviews, and other engineering calculations to ensure design integrity.
  • Support prototype builds, validation testing, and design reviews throughout the product development cycle.
  • Evaluate materials, processes, and manufacturing techniques for improved cost, performance, and reliability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and help drive product enhancements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in heavy equipment or off-road machinery.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting tools.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, component design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.


:

  • Experience with agricultural or construction machinery.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, weldment design, and hydraulic/mechanical systems.
  • Exposure to PLM systems such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
  • Hands-on experience supporting prototype builds and testing.
