Mechanical Design Engineer

AA Euro Group has been retained by one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for a permanent position based in their Newcastle office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of projects including commercial, healthcare, industrial, and more – all within a supportive and development-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support the detailed design and documentation of mechanical building services
• Assist in preparing technical reports, specifications, and project documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams and coordinate design with other engineering disciplines
• Contribute to service drawings and design calculations under supervision
• Attend site visits, surveys, and meetings where required
• Support the implementation of health & safety and quality assurance procedures
• Take part in ongoing professional development and structured training

Requirements:

• Degree qualified (Level 7 or above) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 2–5 years’ experience in building services/mechanical design (consultancy or contractor background)
• Working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or HEVACOMP is beneficial
• Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• Interest or experience in sectors such as healthcare, retail, education, and commercial is an advantage
• Keen to grow within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
