Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Fortress Recruit is working with a cutting-edge engineering business in Dorset to find an experienced 3D CAD Designer with a background in electro-mechanical systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled team working on innovative products across a range of applications.

Taking the lead on creating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and sub-assemblies for mechanical and electrical systems, your work will be integral to the design, development, and improvement of complex products.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing 3D CAD models from technical specifications and datasheets
• Designing assemblies/sub-assemblies for electro-mechanical equipment
• Generating BOMs and supporting the creation of technical documentation
• Participating in design reviews and customer meetings
• Resolving technical issues in existing product designs
• Ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a CAD design role
• Proficiency in SolidEdge or similar 3D CAD tools
• A background in mechanical/electro-mechanical system design
• Knowledge of materials, mechatronics, actuators, electronics packaging, and composites (highly desirable)
• A relevant engineering qualification ()
