Mechanical Design Engineer

Up to £60,000 DOE

• Company bonus of up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year)

As a result of heightened workload, we are seeking Mechanical Design Engineers across a variety of levels to contribute across all phases of the Product Life Cycle, spanning Mechanical Future Concepts, Detailed Design, Qualification, Production, and In-service Support. In this role, you will spearhead the advancement of mechanical solutions for a diverse range of complex defence systems, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across various domains.

We are looking for the following experiences:

• Preferably holding a Degree, HND, or HNC qualification, coupled with practical experience in Mechanical Design and Development within one of the following domains: Mechanisms, Structures, Assembly and Integration, or Conceptualization and Development.
• Demonstrated capability to lead mechanical design tasks and navigate within multidisciplinary teams, equipped with an understanding of the associated challenges.
• Familiarity with verification and qualification procedures to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Solid design proficiency across the Product Life Cycle (CADMID), underpinned by effective communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling influence and negotiation with stakeholders across diverse organizational facets.
• Proven experience in supplier engagement and development within internal and external multidisciplinary teams.
• Cultural awareness and adaptability are valued attributes.
• Familiarity with structural/thermal/dynamic analysis is advantageous.
• Relevant experience with 3D CAD/CAE tools is , with training provided on our CAE platforms.
