Job Overview Power the systems that power the world.\n\n We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP) to join a state-of-the-art data centre supporting business-critical infrastructure within a high-performance, zero-tolerance environment.\n\n As a Data Centre HVAP Technician, you will act as a key guardian of electrical safety and operational continuity. Working closely with the Building Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Shift Leader, you will take ownership of high-voltage operations, planned maintenance, and incident response across critical electrical infrastructure.\n\n This continental shift role offers autonomy, technical variety, and exposure to advanced mission-critical systems where precision, compliance, and safety are paramount.\n\n Key Responsibilities Critical Engineering & Operations\nDeliver planned preventative and reactive maintenance across electrical and associated building systems in line with SLAs.\nAct as the site HV Authorised Person, carrying out safe switching operations, isolations, and control of high-risk activities.\nPrepare, review, and execute switching schedules, SOPs, and EOPs in accordance with approved Safe Systems of Work.\nRespond rapidly to BMS alarms and unplanned events, diagnosing faults and restoring services with minimal disruption.\nSupport operational resilience by maintaining system uptime and protecting critical infrastructure integrity.Safety, Compliance & Control\nManage and administer the Permit to Work (PTW) system, ensuring all authorisations, documentation, and control measures are correctly implemented.\nPrepare, review, and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).\nMaintain evaporative cooling and domestic water systems in compliance with L8 regulations.\nSupervise subcontractors and specialist vendors, ensuring safe delivery of works in line with site procedures and statutory requirements.\nMaintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental legislation across all maintenance activities.Operational Support & Reporting\nSupport incident management during faults, outages, and emergency scenarios.\nEnsure availability and tracking of critical spares and essential materials.\nAccurately complete maintenance records and technical reports using REALM or equivalent CAFM systems.\nBuild strong working relationships with internal teams and client representatives.\nMaintain a safe, professional working environment while delivering high standards of customer service.Development & Continuous Improvement\nActively enhance technical capability through structured training and professional development.\nDemonstrate ownership, accountability, and pride in maintaining high operational standards.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety, compliance, and system reliability.Essential Requirements\nCurrent HV Authorisation (Authorised Person status).\nUp-to-date Wiring Regulations certification.\nNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.\nEmergency First Aid at Work certification.\nProven experience managing faults or incidents within a mission-critical or high-availability environment.\nStrong working knowledge of health & safety legislation relating to maintenance operations.\nExcellent communication skills with a confident and professional approach.\nHigh level of attention to detail, numeracy, and literacy.\nSelf-motivated, dependable, and committed to safe systems of work.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.\nPhysically capable of accessing plant areas, including use of vertical access equipment.\nFlexible and adaptable to continental shift patterns.Desirable\nManual Handling certification.\nPASMA and IPAF qualifications.\nKnowledge of integrated systems such as Fire, PMS, and BMS platforms.\nStrong sense of accountability and operational ownership within critical environments.Why Join Us?
