Now Hiring: Mechanical Cooling Technician

 

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician with a strong background in chillers, HVAC systems, and industrial cooling equipment to support a high-demand mechanical plant.

This role is ideal for someone who can troubleshoot, maintain, and operate cooling systems independently, especially in industrial or mission-critical environments.

 

What You’ll Work On

  • Air-cooled screw chillers (primary cooling systems)
  • Closed-loop chilled water systems with pumps and buffer tanks
  • Liquid cooling units (CDUs) and fluid systems
  • Mechanical cooling systems with seasonal operation changes
  • Multi-unit industrial equipment across a single site

 

What You’ll Do

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot chillers and cooling systems
  • Perform startup, shutdown, and seasonal changeovers
  • Diagnose issues with compressors (screw type), pumps, and valves
  • Monitor and maintain water quality and chemical treatment systems
  • Inspect and repair piping, flanges, and hydronic components
  • Read and interpret BMS/BAS alarms, trends, and setpoints
  • Execute manual overrides and system failover procedures
  • Follow LOTO and safety protocols when working on equipment
  • Maintain logs, complete work orders, and follow SOPs

 

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical cooling systems
    (HVAC, chillers, industrial cooling, or similar)
  • Strong experience with:
    • Screw chillers
    • Refrigeration systems & leak detection
    • Chilled water / hydronic systems
    • Pumps, valves, and piping systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently
  • Comfortable reading schematics and system diagrams
  • Experience working around electrical systems and following LOTO procedures

 

Bonus Experience (Not Required)

  • 7+ years in industrial or critical environments
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Experience with:
    • Building automation systems (BMS/BAS)
    • CMMS or work order systems
    • Preventive maintenance programs
    • Liquid cooling or fluid-based systems

 

Work Environment

  • Industrial setting with both indoor and outdoor work
  • Exposure to heat, noise, and operating equipment
  • Physically active role (walking, lifting, inspecting equipment)
  • Requires strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE
