Mechanical Construction Manager in City and County of the City of London

Client: My client has established themselves as one of the UK’s premier M&E contractors. Following their formation almost 75 years ago, they have grown their turnover to over £200m per annum. The business boasts an envious track record of delivering some of the UK’s and London’s landmark projects. Typically they specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff.
Role: Mechanical Construction Manager - Central London - £300 - £350 per day
Reporting to a Lead Project Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a £1-3M package within their own discipline. Projects are typically commercial office fit out, infrastructure upgrades, laboratories and schools. Key to this role is managing the project at site level; ensuring it is completed on time, to a high quality and within budget.
Role/Responsibilities:
* Design Review (scope gaps / clashes)
* Short term programming.
* Health & Safety (RAMS).
* Technical Submissions.
* Preparation/issuing all RFI.
* Sub-contractor coordination.
* Management of commissioning stages
* Liaising with client team, main contractor and sub-contractors
* Progress meetings with sub-contractors, professional teams and client
The ideal candidate:
* Progressed from a tools background and have good technical knowledge of mechanical services.
* Experience working in the commercial sector
* Experience managing projects to a minimum of £2M within your own discipline
* A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
* Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine, Mace, Multiplex, Ballymore etc
