Location: Oxford Area



We’re looking for a talented Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join a growing, multidisciplinary consultancy in the Oxford area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects across sectors such as commercial, education, defence, and residential, contributing practical, high-quality engineering solutions to the built environment.



Role Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical expertise in mechanical building services, contributing to the design and delivery of projects while managing key aspects of project execution. You will work closely with clients, colleagues, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, sustainably, and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver projects on time, on budget, and to a high technical standard.

Lead design tasks and provide expert advice on complex mechanical engineering challenges.

Assist in the preparation of cost-effective engineering solutions.

Meet with clients to establish project briefs and budgets.

Prepare detailed specifications, drawings, and tender documentation.

Review and report on tenders, recommending the most suitable contractors.

Project manage site works from start to finish, including monitoring against specifications and agreeing final accounts.

Conduct site inspections, surveys, and witness system commissioning.

Develop sustainable and low-carbon mechanical design solutions.

Use CAD software including AutoCAD and Revit for mechanical design.

Analyse and coordinate pipework, ductwork, and plantroom configurations.

Keep up to date with relevant legislation, codes of practice, building regulations, and best practice.

Essential Skills & Experience



Degree or master’s in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering.

Chartered or working towards Chartered status with CIBSE ().

Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.

Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Strong technical understanding, problem-solving, and project management skills.
