Position Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Duration: Contract
Location: Bicester
Essential Criteria:
- Our Client is looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to assist in the assembly and maintenance of automated equipment for the assembly and test of the Clients' product range.
- Reporting to the Lead Automation Systems Mechanical Engineer, you will be working with our advanced
- manufacturing team to assemble and maintain the Clients'' process and test equipment, ensuring the company meets its quality and schedule requirements.
- Interpreting the detail of mechanical drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics for automated systems in order to assemble the equipment to precise quality standards.
- Installation of PLC, HMI, motion and vision inspection systems
- Providing feedback to the design teams to ensure overall automation system design meets requirements for
- functionality and manufacture.
- Assembly of engineering test and validation equipment.
- Supporting development and improvement of manufacturing processes.
- Supporting the maintenance team with new and existing equipment to ensure production schedules are met.
- HNC, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electrical, electronic, or manufacturing systems with proven experience in an automation systems build/maintenance environment.
- To be computer literate, and be able to interact/extract information from 3D model packages.
- A strong mechanical or electrical engineering background, but more importantly, the ability to apply knowledge to real-world situations.
- A good understanding of automation components such as PLCs, robotics, vision systems, pneumatics, electrical circuits and coolant systems (water/glycol & oil)
- Previous experience in an automotive environment
- Experience of working within an IATF/TS 16949 quality system environment
