Job DescriptionJob Description
This position is responsible for assembling in-house manufactured parts and vendor-supplied components into sub-assemblies and finished rotating machinery. The role also includes evaluating and repairing returned equipment. Quality, safety, and accuracy are essential to ensure machinery performs reliably and supports company profitability and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties:
- Review work orders and pull required parts from inventory.
- Verify all parts, finishes, and paint meet quality plans and customer specifications.
- Assemble components to ensure proper fit, alignment, and function.
- Test assemblies with engineering support and document results.
- Follow safety protocols when handling parts ranging from 1 lb. to several tons.
- Meet standard assembly times and on-time delivery goals.
- Install bearings using hydraulic presses, induction heaters, and hand tools.
- Align direct and belt-drive systems.
- Set proper bolt torque and clearances.
- Uses cranes, hoists, and lifts safely.
- Wire junction boxes and install small control panels as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years' experience installing bearings for high-speed equipment.
- 2+ years' experience installing drive components, belts, and couplings, including performing alignments.
- Must own standard tools (screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, socket sets - metric & standard, pliers, hammers, mallet, measuring tapes, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Experience with light wiring for low and high voltage systems (up to 250 HP, 460/3/60).
- Knowledge of balancing effects on rotating equipment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and handle components ranging from 1 lb. to several tons (with proper lifting equipment).
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Consistent adherence to safety protocols and use of required PPE.
Salary Range:
$46,672 - $ 79,318
Salaries will vary and may be above or below this range commensurate with several factors including experience, education, training, location, and merit.
