Mechanical Assembler – Automation & Fabrication Systems
Location: Novi, MI
Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $20–$25/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible hours available)
About the Opportunity
A precision automation and fabrication team is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to build custom welded structures, subcomponents, and automation systems according to engineering drawings and schematics. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading skills, and experience assembling complex mechanical systems. Basic wiring or painting experience is a plus but not required.
What You’ll Do
- Assemble welded frames, brackets, and automation structures per engineering drawings and layout schematics
- Install mechanical components, brackets, and hardware using hand and power tools
- Route and connect low-voltage wiring for sensors and end effectors (training provided)
- Verify assembly fit, alignment, and function during the build process
- Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and adjustments prior to shipment
- Perform deburring, cleaning, and light touch-up or finishing work as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support other shop tasks and cross-train with the automation team as required
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical assembly, machine building, or automation systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings
- Familiarity with low-voltage wiring and sensor routing
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, torque wrenches, and pneumatic tools
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and alignment verification
- Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-focused work ethic
- Painting or finishing experience is a plus but not required
