Mechanical Assembler – Indianapolis, IN

Pay: $20–$28/hour (based on experience)
Hours: 60+ hours per week


Role Overview

The Mechanical Assembler will manually assemble packaged equipment and mechanical systems according to established methods and procedures. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in hands-on work, attention to detail, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual processes to complete mechanical and sub-assemblies using hand tools, electronic, and pneumatic tooling.
  • Read and interpret P&ID, ISO, and mechanical assembly drawings to ensure accurate builds.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition while following prescribed safety regulations.
  • Complete assigned tasks according to the manufacturing schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids, and perform simple shop math.
  • Follow established methods and procedures to ensure consistent product quality.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) months of related factory or mechanical assembly experience.
  • Good command of the English , both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID, ISO, and engineering assembly drawings.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel is a plus.
  • Experience working in an ISO-certified environment is a plus.
  • Strong ability to communicate issues and solutions with project engineers and team members.
