DURATION: LONG TERM (12+ MONTHS)
HOURS: 60+ Per week
PAY: $20–$25/HR
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Mechanical Assembler will manually assemble packaged equipment in a fabrication/manufacturing environment. This position offers the opportunity to advance into a Lead role.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform manual processes to complete mechanical and sub-assemblies using hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition while following prescribed safety regulations.
- Complete tasks as directed by the manufacturing schedule with minimal supervision.
- Follow established methods and procedures.
- Use assembly and measuring tools; interpret visual aids and perform simple shop math.
- Communicate issues and solutions with project engineers.
- Other duties as directed by supervisor.
JOB SKILLS:
- Minimum of 3 months of related factory experience.
- Good command of the English , both written and verbal.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, ISO, and engineering assembly drawings.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings is a plus.
- Familiarity with assembly and measuring tools and visual aids.
- Ability to perform simple shop math.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel is a plus.
- Experience in an ISO-certified environment is a plus.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- High school diploma or GED
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual (Spanish)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work performed in a shop environment.
- Exposure to various elements, none to a disagreeable extent.
- May work at different workstations as production needs require.
- Frequent lifting/moving of materials up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and reach.
- Safety glasses required at all times.
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day and work up to 6 days per week.
- Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
- Steel-toe boots required in the manufacturing facility.
