Aerotek is hiring Mechanical Assemblers for an Industrial Facility located in the south Memphis area (38118). This position will move to Byhalia, MS around September 2026. If interested and qualified, please apply for immediate consideration.
Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5pm-530am (will be paid for 4 additional straight time hours if you work the full shift Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
Pay: $25.30/hr
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling large cooling units using hand and power tools in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. You will perform detailed mechanical assembly, work with metal framing and tubing, follow visual aids and diagrams, and ensure that all components meet quality standards. The position offers hands-on training, opportunities for growth, and a stable weekend night shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assemble large cooling units using hand tools and power tools according to visual aids, diagrams, and written instructions.
- Work with metal framing, copper and metal tubing, and piping, including drilling holes and routing tubing as required.
- Perform basic, standardized, and repetitive assembly operations and labeling with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
- Manually assemble inserted components per visual aids, verifying specifications before and after assembly.
- Inspect parts and completed assemblies to ensure work was performed correctly and meets quality standards.
- Utilize manual lifting devices and participate in team lifts to safely handle heavy components.
- Read and understand visual aids, graphs, and diagrams to follow assembly sequences and specifications.
- Follow directions given by leads and adhere to established production processes and safety procedures.
- Perform visual inspection and basic mechanical checks to identify and correct assembly issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to a safe and efficient production line.
- Collaborate with team members in a production environment to meet daily and weekly output goals.
- Apply basic electrical knowledge, troubleshooting, and schematic reading skills when needed to support assembly and repair tasks.
Essential Skills
- Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 1+ year of detailed mechanical assembly experience.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with an understanding of mechanical assembly processes.
- Ability to read and understand visual aids, graphs, and diagrams.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints is strongly .
- Ability to follow directions accurately from leads, diagrams, and written instructions.
- Experience with inspection and visual inspection of parts and assemblies.
- Comfort with manual lifting devices and performing team lifts for heavy components.
- Reliable work history with consistent employment in similar roles.
- Ability to work Friday–Sunday from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM on a weekend shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with metal framing, copper tubing, and metal piping assembly.
- Familiarity with drilling, cutting, and preparing metal components.
- Exposure to production and assembly line environments.
- Basic electrical knowledge and experience supporting electrical assembly or troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and work from schematics is a plus.
- Experience with repair work on mechanical or electro-mechanical equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in repetitive tasks.
- Ability to meet attendance and punctuality expectations to qualify for shift-related pay incentives.

Work Environment
