SUMMARY

Join a hands-on role assembling mechanical subassemblies and final builds for precision instruments. You’ll interpret machining drawings, perform light wiring and system interconnections from schematics, and assist with incoming inspection of machined parts. Ideal for someone with basic hand-tool knowledge, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and with a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assemble subassemblies and final units for precision opto-mechanical instruments.
• Perform system interconnections by following wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Read and interpret detailed machining drawings to complete work accurately.
• Fabricate simple cables and perform light wiring as needed.
• Assist with incoming inspection of machined components for quality and fit.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and safe workstation; support good housekeeping practices.
• Collaborate with production staff and engineers; take on additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent ; prior experience in a similar production or assembly setting is a plus.
• Comfortable with basic hand tools; machine shop exposure is beneficial.
• Basic to intermediate computer ability; familiarity with Microsoft Office .
• Clear communication skills; dependable, trustworthy, and team-oriented.
• Strong attention to detail; self-starter with solid organizational habits.
• Able to stand and move around the production area for ~50% of the shift and safely lift 40–50 lbs.
• Willing to work standard business hours and flex for additional hours during peak demand.
