The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for the hands-on assembly, disassembly, inspection, and testing of machinery in the repair department. This role involves working from engineering drawings, blueprints, and verbal instructions to ensure efficient and precise assembly processes. The Mechanical Assembler will adhere to safety protocols, work closely with the team to meet delivery deadlines, and ensure high-quality standards in the final product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly & Disassembly: Perform daily disassembly, inspection, documentation, balancing, assembly, and testing of machines in the repair center.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to execute assembly tasks.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of assembly processes, including photographs of disassembly/reassembly, and write detailed reports on root causes and actions taken.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all procedures are followed according to the Quality Plan, with appropriate sign-offs before product shipment.
- Production Order Management: Interpret Production Order instructions and accurately document assembly time in SAP. Ensure timely progress and that all operations are completed per production schedules.
- Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with the team to plan assembly methods and procedures. Ensure the efficient use of time and resources to meet scheduled commitments while maintaining a 90%+ on-time delivery rate.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and keep the work area organized and free from hazards.
- Material Handling: Organize and move materials from warehouse storage to designated areas, sort items according to specified sequences, and pack products for shipping.
- General Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in mechanical assembly or a related field. Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices is .
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Good written communication skills for documenting and reporting issues.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to plan assembly methods and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety rules and regulations in a manufacturing or repair environment.
- Tools & Equipment: Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and electromechanical equipment.
- Software: Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for time tracking and production order management is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials (up to [insert weight] lbs).
- Capable of standing or walking for extended periods.
