JOB SUMMARY First shift - 6:00am-2:30pm
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated parts at floor stations. Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature
• Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments to be carried out in a timely manner
• Relies on experiences and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
MAJOR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
• Responsible for assembling the mechanical components of front and rear panels, chassis, housings, cabinets, enclosures, and large mechanical assemblies
• Responsible for assembling precision electro-mechanical equipment for hydraulic, fit mechanical parts together into housings, and aligns these parts to insure the smooth operation of the mechanical assembly
• May be responsible for installing interconnect wiring and assemblies into enclosures
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools and simple measuring devices
• Works to well-defined documentation, which clearly identifies the mechanical assembly process
• Clean and maintain warehouse equipment daily
• Follow all safety guidelines required
• Adhere to scheduling requirements to complete tasks on time
• Perform all other related duties as assigned
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Ability to utilize standard tools like screwdrivers, pliers, measurement equipment
• Ability to pay attention to small details
• Ability to read blueprints.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Sitting occurs up to 5% of the time
• Lifting/carrying occur approximately 80% of the time up to 50 pounds
• Standing/walking on concrete floors occur approximately 100% of the time while performing various job duties
• Reaching occurs at all levels with full or less than full extension of the arms
• Handling/grasping occurs approximately 75% of the time. Fine manipulation when utilizing small tools or keyboarding
• Pushing/pulling and lifting occurs approximately 70% of the time. Weight ranges up to 70% and usually occurs at or below waist level. Duration will vary with task being performed
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• HS diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1-year related experience in a sheet metal environment
• Minimum 1-year related experience in a manufacturing environment
