Mechanical Assembler

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL

Job Type and Duration: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $25/hour (plus overtime opportunities)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, with overtime Monday–Saturday as needed

Job Summary

We are hiring a Mechanical Assembler to support the build of precision equipment used in the food processing industry. This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with mechanical systems, motors, gearboxes, and other components to ensure machinery is assembled to specification and ready for customer use.

Responsibilities

· - Read blueprints and determine the assembly process

· - Assemble and install motors (.5 HP to 200 HP), gearboxes, sprockets, belts, and related equipment

· - Use hand and power tools to complete mechanical assembly

· - Apply Loctite, grease, and other assembly-related materials as required

· - Operate a forklift (with proper training) to move components as needed

· - Follow control document procedures and quality standards

· - Read and use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers

· - Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time

· - Work overtime Monday–Saturday as needed to support production demands

Requirements

· - Minimum 2 years of mechanical assembly experience

· - Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings

· - Experience with motors, gearboxes, and general machine assembly

· - Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices

· - Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

· - Forklift operation experience (training available if needed)

· - Must be a reliable team player with strong attention to detail
