Paragon has partnered with Reef as we currently work on a wide variety of projects, including Black Desert Resort in Ivins, UT and Marcella, near Park City, UT.

Job Summary

The team at Paragon Land Pros is looking for a reliable and skilled Mechanic Shop Technician to support our landscaping and hardscaping operations by maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with small engines, light construction equipment, trailers, trucks, and specialized tools used in landscape and hardscape construction.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on landscaping and hardscaping equipment including:
• Plate compactors, skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers
• Trucks and trailers (light and medium duty)
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure all equipment meets safety and performance standards.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and fuel system issues.
• Maintain organized service records and ensure equipment downtime is minimized.
• Coordinate parts ordering and manage shop inventory.
• Fabricate or weld parts as needed for equipment modification or repair.
• Keep shop area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Occasionally assist with equipment delivery or in-field repairs on job sites.
• Communicate repair status and equipment needs with supervisors and field crews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training .
• 2-3 years of experience in mechanical repair, maintenance, construction, or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Experience with trailer and truck maintenance (DOT compliance a plus).
• Basic welding and fabrication skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record (CDL as a plus).

Qualifications

• Certifications in small engine or diesel repair, ASE, or related trades.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Familiarity with construction equipment telematics or maintenance tracking software.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical tasks in shop and outdoor environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
