MECHANIC Heavy Equipment
Summary: The Heavy Equipment Mechanic role has responsibilities that include repairs and services on many kinds of machines including bulldozers, earthmovers, graders, paving machines, and fleet vehicles.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the upkeep, maintenance, and repair work on heavy construction equipment including bulldozers, cranes, graders and other equipment.
- Adjust equipment and repair and/or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers specifications.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
- Service attachments and tools such as blades, ploughs, winches, and side booms.
- Complete required inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to maximize safety, productivity, and lifespan.
- Craft thorough reports and records in a timely manner and provide final documentation to upper management.
- Monitor equipment for compliance with prescribed operating and safety standards.
- Participate in general shop operations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Perform routine oil changes, tire rotation, fluid changes, battery inspections, electrical system testing, brake inspections and replacement, etc. Must be performed as detailed on the maintenance log sheets.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to look at mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, identify problems and think about possible solutions.
- Valid drivers license and a minimum of three years of driving experience with a clean driving history
- Experience with CAT .
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Heavy equipment maintenance experience required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly.
