M&E Field Service Engineer (Electrically Biased)\n\nEmployment type: Permanent, full-time\nLocation: Nationwide travel\nHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Work from home every Friday)\nSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 p.a. + company vehicle or car allowance + overtime\n\nExcellent Training Package\n\nDue to continued growth, my client is currently recruiting for an Electrically Biased Field Service Engineer to join their organisation. This is a mobile role covering the UK and Ireland, with occasional travel to Europe.\n\nOur client provides environmental and energy engineering solutions for clients mainly in the production, major processing, and manufacturing sectors.
The ideal candidate will have an electrical bias, ideally with experience working with industrial systems, PLCs, and instrumentation. Training will be provided on the specific equipment used, and the company is committed to your ongoing development.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs part of the Service team, you will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical servicing and maintenance of a range of industrial equipment, including thermal oxidisers, industrial burners, and solvent monitoring systems. The focus of this role will be on fault finding and maintaining electrical control systems, such as actuators, switches, input/output systems, and PLC-based control panels.
Full training will be provided over an initial 2-3 month period, with continued development beyond.\n\nResponsibilities / Main Duties\n\nPerform routine maintenance, calibration, and electrical fault finding on a range of process and emission control systems.\nDiagnose and repair faults on systems involving actuators, sensors, switches, and I/O wiring.\nConduct PLC fault finding and support control panel troubleshooting.\nCarry out site inspections and provide detailed service reports in line with company standards and KPIs.\nProvide remote and on-site technical support to clients.\nLiaise with the engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.\nSupport the sales team by identifying and communicating technical details for replacement parts and remedial work scopes.\nTravel throughout the UK and Ireland (typically 2 nights away per week), with occasional European travel.\nRepresent the company professionally and courteously at all times.\nExperience / Skills Required\n\nProven electrical engineering experience in an industrial or field-based setting is essential.\nStrong knowledge of electrical control systems, including actuators, sensors, switches, and PLCs (to fault finding level)\nAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring schematics.\nA flexible and proactive attitude to problem-solving and customer service.\nUK driving licence\nExcellent communication skills\nKey Words: Electrical Engineer, Field Service Engineer, PLC Fault Finding, Industrial Automation, Actuators, I/O Systems, Electrical Control Panels, Maintenance Engineer, Process Equipment, LEV Testing, Multi Skilled Engineer
