Job Description
Materials Analyst | Onsite | Normal, IL | Employment Type: Contract
Summary
The Materials Analyst will support material control, inventory management, and logistics operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on data-driven execution, cross-functional coordination, and proactive problem-solving to ensure smooth material flow and support production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Material & Inventory Management
- Support material control and inventory control activities to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Monitor inventory levels and logistics activities to support production needs
- Manage and support multiple trial or pilot projects simultaneously
Data Analysis & Business Intelligence
- Develop, analyze, and interpret business intelligence and operational data to drive execution and decision-making
- Utilize Excel and reporting tools to track materials, inventory trends, and performance metrics
- Support project management activities with accurate data and analysis
Systems & Tools
- Work with SAP () for material and inventory transactions
- Leverage Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook for reporting and communication
Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve material-related issues
- Build trust and maintain constructive relationships across functions
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and a cross-functional mindset
Problem Solving & Execution
- Apply proactive problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Balance strategic thinking with tactical execution to meet operational demands
- Make sound decisions while managing multiple priorities
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of material control, inventory control, and logistics operations
- In-depth understanding of the automotive supply chain; automotive production experience
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
