Materials Planner\nPoole, Dorset\n Materials Planner salary: £28,675 - £31,000\nPlease note: only applicants with the full-time, permanent right to work in the UK will be considered.\n\nMaterials Planner Overview:\n\nRun daily MRP and convert demand into accurate, timely purchase orders\nExpedite suppliers and protect production by managing shortages and late orders\nMaintain stock accuracy and optimal inventory across parts, spares and consumables\nOwn system integrity: lead times, MOQs, dates, pricing and clean planning data\nCoordinate internally and externally with clear visibility, recovery plans and escalation \n\n This Materials Planner role reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for executing the day-to-day supply chain plan to ensure material availability for production and service operations. The Materials Planner will own MRP outputs, manage supplier schedules, expedite critical orders, and maintain accurate ERP data to protect delivery. This is a high-tempo, detail-critical Materials Planner position focused on availability, schedule support and system reliability.\n\nDay-to-day responsibilities of a Materials Planner\n\nRun and manage MRP to generate purchase requirements\nConvert demand signals into accurate purchase orders and maintain planning parameters\nActively manage supplier order books to hit required delivery dates\nExpedite late or critical orders and communicate risks early with recovery plans\nMaintain optimal stock levels across production parts, spares and consumables\nInvestigate and resolve stock discrepancies, system anomalies and date issues\nRaise and manage purchase orders, track status and support call-off orders\nWork closely with Warehouse, Production and Service teams to prioritise demand\nEscalate constraints to the Operations Manager where required\nLiaise with suppliers on schedules, shortages, returns and onboarding activity\nMaintain ERP/MRP data integrity including lead times, MOQs, pricing and planning dates\nProduce reports on shortages, overdue orders and supplier performance \n\n What they’re looking for - Materials Planner\n\nExperience in a planning, purchasing or supply chain coordination role within manufacturing or engineering\nConfident running an ERP/MRP system day-to-day and keeping outputs clean and usable\nProven track record in expediting suppliers and protecting build schedules under pressure\nStrong attention to detail with a structured approach to workload and follow-ups\nComfortable working at pace, juggling priorities and escalating early when needed\nSAP Business One exposure is useful, but not essential\nHave, or working toward, CIPS Level 3+ \n\n What’s on offer - Materials Planner\n\nCompetitive Materials Planner salary\nFull-time, permanent role within a high-tempo operations environment\nClear ownership of MRP execution, expediting and system data integrity \n\n How to apply for the Materials Planner position\n\n If you’re interested in this Materials Planner role, get in touch to run through the role.\nCall or message Hayden at Holt Engineering on (phone number removed)
