Job DescriptionThe HT Group is partnering with an established engineered solutions provider to find a Materials Manager to lead end to end materials operations for a high volume manufacturing facility.  This person will own the full materials lifecycle - including procurement, inventory, logistics, and warehousing - ensuring material readiness to support production schedules while optimizing inventory, supplier performance, and working capital. This role manages a team across purchasing and warehouse functions and partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance.
 
Location: Milpitas, CA (On-site)
Compensation: $140-160k base DOE
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead integrated materials strategy: demand/supply planning, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, and warehousing
• Own S&OP cadence and align supply plans with production and capacity
• Ensure ERP/MRP data integrity (BOMs, routings, lead times, safety stock, min/max)
• Drive supplier performance through contracts, QBRs, cost and lead-time reductions, quality and OTD improvements
• Reduce shortages, excess & obsolete inventory, and material-related disruptions
• Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, shipping efficiency, and trade compliance
• Manage inventory policies, cycle counts, and physical inventories
• Lead and develop buyers, logistics, inventory, and warehouse teams
• Partner with Operations to improve throughput, lead times, and material flow
• Support Lean/CI initiatives (Kanban, PFEP, VMI/consignment, 5S, etc.)
• Manage departmental budgets and KPIs
• Manage safety, quality, and regulatory compliance (AS9100/ISO as applicable)

 
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years in materials/supply chain, including 5+ years leading teams in manufacturing
• Strong experience with S&OP/MPS and ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft; Made2Manage )
• Proven supplier management, negotiation, and cost-reduction experience
• Data-driven mindset with strong Excel/analytics skills
• Lean/Continuous Improvement experience
• APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP; Six Sigma certification
• Background in regulated or complex manufacturing environments (aerospace, medical devices, electronics)
• Experience leading ERP upgrades or warehouse automation initiatives
