Why Choose Dontech?

At Dontech, you’ll join a company with a 50+ year legacy of innovation, supporting high-end applications in the military, avionics, aerospace, and medical instrumentation markets. We’re a privately owned, family-run business with a supportive, growth-oriented culture and a strong team ethos. We are seeking a hands-on Materials Manager to lead purchasing, inventory control, and warehouse execution in our custom manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a relationship-oriented leader who can partner effectively with suppliers, use data to drive decisions, and improve ERP/MRP discipline while supporting production and growth. The strongest candidates will bring supplier management strength, manufacturing experience, and enough systems/reporting fluency to turn information into action. This role is on-site in Doylestown, PA.

Position Summary

The Materials Manager leads purchasing, inventory control, and warehouse execution in support of a custom, highly engineered manufacturing environment. This person partners closely with production planning, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure the right material is available at the right time, at the right quality, and at the right cost. The role combines supplier relationship management, cost discipline, ERP/MRP rigor, hands-on data fluency, and team leadership to improve service, reduce risk, and support profitable growth.

• Leads with professionalism, urgency, and follow-through, while developing the purchasing and warehouse teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Purchasing and Warehouse teams to support production plans, customer commitments, and company objectives.

• Source, qualify, manage, and develop suppliers in line with company policies, quality expectations, and long-term business needs.

• Establish and manage inventory strategies that support production without tying up unnecessary working capital.

• Partner with the Production Planner to align quoted lead times and shipment schedules with raw material availability, internal yields, and actual capacity.

• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions related to delivery, quality, responsiveness, and pricing.

• Lead warehouse execution so materials are properly received, identified, stored, issued, packaged, cycle counted, and transacted accurately and on time.

• Optimize ERP/MRP usage, item master integrity, material planning parameters, and reporting to improve visibility and decision-making.

• Create and improve reports, dashboards, pivots, and data analyses that help the business manage shortages, expediting, supplier performance, inventory, and cost trends.

• Support ERP/MRP upgrades, redesigns, integrations, or expanded functionality, and help drive user adoption and process discipline.

• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations on new part introductions, engineering changes, requalification needs, and obsolescence risks.

• Identify, communicate, and mitigate supply chain and material risks, including single-source exposure, long-lead constraints, and continuity concerns.

• Promote continuous improvement, standardized work, and training within the materials function.

• Ensure compliance with quality system, ethical, and regulatory requirements, including applicable AS9100 & ISO-9001 expectations.
