Materials Controller - Ipswich

Salary: £28-30K

Hours: Monday to Friday

Location: Ipswich

About the Opportunity

GTS Transportation is recruiting for an organised and proactive Materials Controller for our client in Ipswich.

This isn't just about moving materials — it's about keeping the heartbeat of Britain's freight network running smoothly. You'll be the person ensuring that everything our client's engineering and operations teams need is in the right place, at the right time, and in perfect order.

You'll be at the centre of the action - coordinating goods in and out, raising purchase orders, keeping stock levels healthy, and supporting the engineering teams to deliver on time.

Expect your day to include:

• Managing deliveries, from unloading lorries to logging materials into stock.
• Keeping accurate records and raising requisitions with precision.
• Preparing components for overhaul and dispatch.
• Working closely with teams across multiple UK sites to keep everything flowing.
• Maintaining an organised, safe, and efficient store - the kind of place everything has a home and everyone knows where to find it.

What We're Looking For

You're probably the kind of person who takes pride in keeping things running like clockwork. You'll also bring:

• Experience in materials control, logistics, or stock coordination.
• Knowledge of procurement or purchasing processes.
• A Forklift licence and a full UK driving licence.
• A practical, hands-on approach — with an eye for detail and a safety-first mindset.
