Materials Buyer

Job Description

I’m reaching out about an excellent opportunity for a Materials and Services Buyer to join a leading design & build provider within the water and infrastructure sector.

This role will be based in Glasgow (Stepps) with hybrid working available and offers the chance to play a key part in procurement across multiple high-profile projects.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading procurement activities for materials and services across a range of projects
• Managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with company and client frameworks
• Negotiating commercial terms to drive value and efficiency
• Supporting project teams with timely, compliant, and sustainable sourcing
• Analysing market trends and risks to inform decisions

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in procurement/buying with strong commercial awareness
• Skilled negotiator with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage costs, risks, and supplier performance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with a good understanding of procurement systems
• CIPS qualification (or working towards) would be an advantage
