Material Control Technician

Job Summary
The Material Control Technician
is responsible for executing quality control and material verification tasks to support JMS operations. This position ensures that all incoming materials, fabricated components, and vendor-supplied parts meet required specifications, quality standards, and documentation accuracy. Working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality departments, the Material Control Technician plays a vital role in maintaining material traceability and supporting regulatory compliance throughout fabrication and final inspection stages.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Inspect rawmaterials, fabricated parts, and vendor-supplied components upon receipt.
- Verifymaterialcertifications, mill test reports, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, micrometers) to perform dimensional inspections.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and CAD drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Ensure proper identification and traceability ofmaterials through fabrication processes.
- Audit marking transfers andmaterialgrade compliance during production using handheld PositiveMaterialIdentification tools.
- Conduct final inspections for cleanliness, passivation, and rust-free condition.
- Assist in compilingmaterialdocumentation packages (MaterialRecord Dossiers).
- Enter inspection data andmaterialinformation into ERP and QMS systems.
- Perform inspections and audits in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
Required Qualifications
- 35 years of experience in similar role
- Familiarity with manufacturing settings, particularly with water treatment components (e.g., pumps, valves, piping, membranes)
- Hands-on experience with systems like SAP, Oracle, EPICOR or other ERP software is desirable.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively across functions.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse or production environment.
- Able to move and handle largermaterials and assemblies with pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Forklift operator certification
- High attention to detail

- High School diploma or equivalent
