About the Role:
The Master Material Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within manufacturing. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining material plans that align with production schedules and inventory levels, ultimately driving operational efficiency. The successful candidate will analyze demand forecasts and inventory data to optimize material availability while minimizing excess stock. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, and customer service is essential to meet production goals and customer demands. Ultimately, the Master Material Planner will contribute to the overall success of the organization by ensuring that materials are available when needed, thus supporting timely production and delivery of products.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in production and material planning or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Basic knowledge of Excel
Qualifications:
- Certification in APICS CPIM or CSCP.
- Experience with SAP ERP systems, particularly in a manufacturing context.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Knowledge of build material and master data
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive material plans based on production schedules and demand forecasts.
- Analyze inventory levels and adjust material requirements to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to material planning and inventory management.
- Continuously improve material planning processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills:
The required skills for this role include strong analytical abilities, which are essential for interpreting data and making informed decisions regarding material requirements. Proficiency in ERP systems will be utilized daily to track inventory levels and manage material orders effectively. Excellent communication skills are necessary for collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on production needs.
