Marine Structural Welder

We are currently seeking experienced Marine Structural Welders to join our team for shipyard and marine construction projects. Candidates with experience in shipbuilding, structural fabrication, and marine repair are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on marine vessels, barges, and shipyard projects
• Weld steel and aluminum components using FCAW, SMAW, MIG, and other approved welding processes
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, structural drawings, and work instructions
• Fit, align, and weld structural components including bulkheads, decks, frames, foundations, and supports
• Operate welding equipment, cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and hand tools safely and efficiently
• Perform tack welding and assist with fabrication and layout as needed
• Inspect welds for quality and ensure compliance with project specifications and welding procedures
• Follow all OSHA, company, and shipyard safety regulations
• Work closely with shipfitters, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects on schedule
• Maintain clean and organized work areas

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Structural Welder in a shipyard or industrial environment required
• Shipyard and marine construction experience
• Proficient in FCAW, SMAW, and MIG welding processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
• Experience using plasma cutters, cutting torches, grinders, and fabrication tools
• Strong understanding of welding safety and quality standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• TWIC Card but not required

Skills

• Aluminum welding experience
• Tack fitting and fabrication experience
• Knowledge of marine structural assembly and repair
• Rigging and material handling experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces
• Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to work in outdoor and industrial shipyard environments
