Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Functions
- Perform all aspects of the sales process while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Use all available resources to maintain strong product knowledge for all brands represented.
- Maintain steady customer interactions and inquiries using the company’s approved CRM system.
- Enter customer information, unit details, and pricing data into the Dealer Management System (DMS) to provide accurate quotes and buyer’s agreements.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers by delivering a customer-first experience.
- Offer complimentary and add-on products to increase profit per customer, working closely with the Finance and Service Departments.
- Identify and communicate customer service opportunities to management, seeking ways to add value.
- Assist management in creating accurate and appealing website listings.
- Utilize social media to promote dealership products and services.
Customer Service
- Provide a warm, genuine greeting to every customer.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
- Promptly answer incoming calls, provide accurate information, and transfer calls using best practices.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a tidy, customer-friendly workspace.
- Maintain a positive, approachable demeanor to encourage customer rapport.
Requirements:
- Prior sales experience in a retail or dealership environment .
- Knowledge of the marine industry or boating strongly .
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to build relationships and engage with customers in a professional, helpful manner.
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Comfortable with basic technology; CRM or DMS experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for quoting and contract preparation.
- Must be able to work Saturdays and extended hours during peak seasons.
- Passion for boating and eagerness to learn about new products and trends.
