We are seeking a Full-Time Marine Mechanic to join our team in delivering exceptional customer service and crafting a distinctive and memorable experience for our clients at our Wolfeboro Marina.
Job Summary:
Marine Mechanics will report to the Service Manager and help manage the daily operations of the Service department. In this role, you'll join a team focused on the maintenance, repair, and detailing of a wide range of boat makes and models. Working as a Marine Mechanic with us offers the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and skills from experienced and skilled Marine Mechanics.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Remove, repair, and reinstall engines, transoms, or outdrives.
- Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear and damage.
- Overhaul or replace components such as carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, and electrical and fuel systems.
- Rebuild engine cylinder blocks and outdrives.
- Install and repair accessories, including radios and marine electronics.
- Complete repairs within the scheduled timeframe using the service scheduler.
- Ensure high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and update certifications.
- Attend training and obtain certifications for Mercury, Volvo, Mastercraft, and Yamaha (paid for by Goodhue).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Keen attention to detail.
- Experience and certifications with manufacturers like Mercury, Volvo, Yamaha, etc.
- Ability to thoroughly examine boats and communicate damage or malfunction details effectively to the service advisor.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various marine engines, transmissions, drives, and systems.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for working in a growing, fast-paced, industry-leading company.
- candidates will have their own tools, though not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Capability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Education & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a repair or service facility, or completion of a high school/vocational auto shop program.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Boater's License .
- Willing to train the right candidate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
