We are currently seeking skilled Marine Electricians for a potential 5-year project in Norfolk, VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals.

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role.

Overview:

Perform installation, troubleshooting, and repair of shipboard electrical systems on U.S. Navy vessels.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and repair wiring, panels, and controls.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical systems with meters and analyzers
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards.

OR

  • Install and maintain temporary shipboard power sources.
  • Set up lighting, distribution panels, and power outlets.
  • Inspect and test temporary circuits for safety.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • High school diploma/GED; completion of a formal trade training program (trade school, military training, apprenticeship, or equivalent) required.
  • 4+ years as an electrician with at least 2+ years on Navy ships
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E and shipyard electrical standards OR Knowledge of temporary power safety standards.
