Sunup in Gonzales, LA. You grab your meter, review a schematic, and board a vessel that needs expert hands. By midday, a stubborn fault is traced and resolved; by afternoon, preventative checks keep another boat on schedule. If you love diagnosing, fixing, and fine-tuning shipboard power, this role puts you at the heart of the action.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, service, and repair electrical systems across a range of marine vessels.
  • Diagnose issues quickly and implement reliable, timely fixes.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation with confidence.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to keep systems performing at their best.
  • Work alongside other trades to ensure electrical systems integrate smoothly with mechanical and structural work.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines aboard every vessel.
  • Document your work thoroughly and maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certification in electrical systems is .
  • Proven experience as an electrician or in a closely related role.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical components, wiring practices, and system operation.
  • Ability to read and apply schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sharp attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and a collaborative approach on multi-trade teams.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and travel as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Clean background.
  • TWIC card.
