The Manufacturing Technician will assist in the design and prototyping efforts of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs). The ideal candidate will be technically inclined, well organized, have a keen attention to detail, and be capable of working with a team of highly motivated, professional engineers.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize materials and supplies for the layup process
- Assist engineers with large composite layups and vacuum bagging operations as necessary
- Performing layups and bagging operations independently
- Perform basic surface preparation prior to finishing
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and technicians, to develop manufacturing strategies and production plans.
- Assist with the setup and operation of manufacturing equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality requirements.
- Assist with the development and implementation of innovative production solutions and techniques to optimize manufacturing workflows and minimize production time.
- Monitor production performance and quality metrics, identifying and addressing any issues or deviations from standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to troubleshoot technical problems and implement design improvements for manufacturability.
Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field is .
- To meet the requirements for government contract work and work in a restricted facility, candidates must adhere to specific criteria set by federal regulations. This includes: 1) a U.S. (whether born or naturalized); 2) a lawful permanent of the United States; or 3) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C.
Skill Requirements
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, techniques, and equipment. Experience in advanced manufacturing technologies such as additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and automation .
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to lift and/or carry 45 lbs.
- Ability to work for extended periods at computer workstation/keyboard.
- Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
- The position will require walking, standing, squatting, crouching, stooping, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, sitting, repetitive motion and kneeling.
