Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing QC Manager to lead all quality assurance and control activities at our production facility in Athens, AL. This hands-on leadership role will drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure every part that leaves our dock meets or exceeds stringent customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality control systems for CNC machining, welding, and finishing operations.
• Perform and oversee first-article inspections (FAI), in-process audits, and final inspections on tight-tolerance metal components.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.
• Maintain and improve ISO 9001 certifications.
• Track, analyze, and report key quality metrics to senior leadership.
• Collaborate daily with engineering, production, and purchasing to resolve non-conformances and improve manufacturability.
• Manage the calibration program and all inspection equipment.
• Conduct supplier quality audits and oversee incoming material inspection processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of progressive QC/QA experience in metal manufacturing (aerospace/defense machining or fabrication strongly ).
• Minimum 2 years in a QC leadership or management role.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (ProShop ).
• Strong leadership presence with proven ability to build accountability and drive change.

Skills & Experience

• Current or recent AS9100 experience.
• Familiarity with welding certifications (AWS D17.1, D1.1).
