JOB OVERVIEW

The Manufacturing Project Manager will oversee and coordinate manufacturing projects to ensure completion on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This position will manage resources, schedules, and risks while collaborating with various teams like engineering and production. Responsible for planning, execution, and completion of manufacturing projects, ensuring they align with the company’s goals.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Developing project plans, setting objectives, and managing timelines, budgets and resources.
  • Primary point of contact for project communications, ensuring open and transparent communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, providing updates, responding to inquiries, and using feedback to adapt to meet expectations.
  • Report on project status and updates to all levels of the organization, from team members to senior management.
  • Building and leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring effective communication.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ensuring manufacturing processes and outputs meet expected quality standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring all manufacturing activities adhere to safety guidelines and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or a related field.
  • Experience: five years’ experience in project management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Hira, etc); PMP equivalent certification .
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, and high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, powder coating, and assembly processes .
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and guide teams while effectively managing conflict and driving results.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Required to be able to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment is shared between office and shop floor.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any direct leadership responsibilities but will be required to work with multiple department resources. This position will need to have the ability to influence, coach, guide, and hold accountability to those on the project team without being the direct manager.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel to all Robinson facilities may be required.
