Job DescriptionJob DescriptionManufacturing Project EngineerThis exciting role will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for production while supporting new product introductions and equipment implementation. This role manages projects, tracks production metrics (yields, scrap, OEE), and drives continuous improvement through SPC, DOE, Lean/Six Sigma, and automation initiatives. They are headquartered in the Burlington, WA area. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer of solar cells and PV Modules for the renewable energy industry. If you are an individual who loves leading manufacturing projects and optimizing manufacturing processes, this role could be for you!Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain processes for stringing, lamination, framing, and final testing.
  • Support machinery and equipment quotations for production lines.
  • Track and report on yields, scrap, and OEE; lead corrective actions and root cause analysis.
  • Execute process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement kaizen projects to boost productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and scopes of work to deliver program milestones.
  • Implement SPC, PFMEA, control plans, SOPs, SWIs, and Value Stream Maps (VSM).
  • Ensure compliance with UL/IEC and ISO standards.
  • Support equipment installation, debugging, qualification, and optimization.
  • Evaluate and integrate process equipment, automation systems, and recipes.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and contractors on equipment builds and installations.
  • Lead trial runs, equipment validations, and production line qualifications.
  • Develop training tools (SOPs, SWIs, PFMEAs) for new lines and processes.
  • Coach, mentor, and train team members to strengthen technical capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years in high-volume automated manufacturing (PV or electronics ).
  • Strong knowledge of SPC, DOE, Lean/Six Sigma, PFMEA, control plans, SOPs, SWIs, and VSM.
  • Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, PLCs (Control Logix), HMIs, VFDs, and plant controls.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70, UL 61730, IEC 61215, ISO 9001, and safety system design standards.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and structured root cause analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MES, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to deliver on timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Effective at working with external machine builders and system integrators.

Salary Range:

  • $90,000-105,000+ per year, depending on experience

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with necessary overtime
