Job Description
Major Recruitment Huddersfield are currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for our client based in Halifax West Yorkshire. Our client has a strong track record of growth achieved both organically and through acquisitions and are proud of their high quality, diverse product portfolio, channel footprint and global operating scale.\n\nMain Purpose of the role:\n\nActing as a change agent, coordinating and driving development projects, which will lead towards performance improvements, cost reductions and greater competitiveness. Review, improve business/production processes, and support systems.
Focus on insuring adherence to corporate and factory standards by providing consistent measuring, monitoring and performance improvements, whilst safeguarding assets. Provide technical support and analysis, including utilising industrial performance tools and ensuring the successful completion of all factory projects. Provide design and cost solutions for product development ensuring that all technical, design and quality requirements are met using CAD.\n\nMain Activities/Responsibilities:\n\nLead innovation projects, recommending new ideas and techniques to ensure project success.\nAnalyse current working methods and implement improvements to improve the efficiency and quality of the manufacturing process\nControl of documentation and lead meetings to ensure that control is maintained.\nReduce standard times & NVA\nUse of CAD to design and improve tooling and product for effective & efficient manufacturing techniques\nIntroduce innovative and proactive improvements for efficiency gains and cost effectiveness.\nParticipate in Process / Design FMEA\nPlay an active role in problem solving within the production environment analysing and troubleshooting process problems to make continuous and permanent improvements\nEnsure compliance with company and industry standards.\nAny other duties as and when required by management that are reasonably within the capabilities of the person and are aimed at achieving the company's objectives and goals.Competencies:\n\nKnowledge and practical application of DMAIC criteria to enable problem identification and solving techniques\nExcellent analytical and math's skills, analysing data to discover areas of improvement.\nSkill to use a personnel computer and various software packages\nSkill to prioritize and pursue projects to satisfactory conclusion\nAbility to be motivated and motivate whilst persuading others to change existing practices.\nAbility to identify problems and initiate corrective remedial actions\nAbility to communicate effectively and concisely at varying levels\nSupport capital investment projects.\nPro-active approach to problem solving, and efficiency improvement of operator, machine and layout.\nAble to meet the challenge of a busy factory environment\nIn-depth knowledge and practical application of continuous improvement criteria to enable problem identification, and solving techniquesEducation and Experience:\n\nIn depth knowledge of CAD packages i.e., Solidworks\nKnowledge of ERP system advantageous i.e., Syspro, Sage\nMinimum HNC Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent\nMechanical Engineering degree \nProject management experience\nGreen/black belt - knowledge of Lean Manufacturing TechniquesExcellent salary and benefits package\n\nINDSAC
